Hi, I'm Robyn.
Welcome & thanks for stopping by my blog.
I love fabric, love sewing, love quilting, love stitching & just love sharing & giving handmade gifts. I also love to travel, particularly to the Amish areas of America - all that fabric to choose, the people to journey with & so much to learn & enjoy.
I have been sewing & knitting since the age of 5 (too many years to mention..), studied textiles & design in high school & over the past few years have started selling craft at markets under my business name of ARJAY Creations.
The past few years have seen many changes in my life, some deliberate, some unforeseen & challenging but through these changing seasons, I have found peace & comfort when sitting at the machine, stitching or even just playing with fabric. Hence the name for this blog - Sewing The Seasons. I have also been sustained by my faith in our loving God & the constant support of family & friends.
For 24 years I taught school, followed by 8 years of serving part time with the Pastoral Team at my local church & am currently in a season of 'what next'?
Growing up I planned to marry & have a big family, but this dream has been realised in a different way in my life. I am still single, but have been abundantly blessed with many spiritual children who allow me to speak into their lives, & have friends who entrust me to care for their precious children.
Over the past few years, I have had the joy of teaching some of the younger women at church to sew & realised there are skills I can pass on in a different way.
So welcome as I begin this new journey of blogging, sharing some reflections, sewing tips & tutorials.
